Seek out space―savvy pieces ― So you do not have room for a freestanding wardrobe in your bedroom? You might be surprised at what other pieces of storage you can squeeze in. Boxes for storing clothes as well as kit under your bed make essential use of a huge portion of floor space. You may also need to source pieces that were not specifically designed for bedroom life. Low―level cabinets or sideboards, skinny chests of drawers or shelves mounted high on the wall will all serve well in a small bedroom.
The key is to tuck shelving into every possible corner, so you can keep even a small room functioning smoothly. Work shelves or cupboards up the walls ― right to the ceiling if you can ― as well as consider shelving over or around doors, too. In this compact bedroom, an area has been created that incorporates the bed but also a surprising amount of built―in shelving, making excellent use of a small alcove. A desk with shelving above it adds to the functionality.
Break it up If the only space for hanging storage in a bedroom is right next to the bed, this ingenious design is ideal. Neatly built into this tiny bedroom, it functions as both wardrobe space as well as bedside units, with cupboards beneath, thanks to the open section a third of the way up. Some clever rearranging turned a tiny bedroom previously just large enough for one twin bed into a cozy bunk room. The curtains have a retro sailboat pattern. The lamp on the console is a ball of rope.
Know no limits! ― Do not let the size of your bedroom restrict how you decorate it. This space is beautifully styled as well as packed with pieces that would normally belong in a much bigger room. The chandelier, for example, almost fills the ceiling, but what a fun, luxe statement it makes! Keep the scale large. In a tiny room, even a double or queen―size bed will feel massive, as well as oversize scale translates to a feeling of comfort as well as warmth. You'll need enough room to walk on either side, so do not squeeze it in too tightly.
